Thank you for visiting the JFAO site. While you are here check out some of our music samples (Baby’s In A Funk, Politically Correct, and Bossa are originals of mine), become acquainted with the musicians of JFAO, and more. In addition, check out our YouTube performance at the Pleasant Hill Art, Wine, & Jazz Festival. In the meantime, “keep on swingin’ .”
Sincerely,
Dalt Williams
The Dalt Williams Quintet featuring vocalist Marcella Hooks, is a “swinging” group of musicians committed to performing America’s #1 art form…..JAZZ. These talented musicians are particularly skilled in performing the great American popular music written in the period of 1920 to 1960 (which lends itself well to the jazz genre). Be it Dixieland, Swing, BeBop, Latin, or just plain Blues; the musicians of the Dalt Williams group are versatile in performing the many styles of jazz.
With a collective total of 175 years performing jazz, they have a wide variety of experiences performing in club, dance, touring, concert, and festival venues. Among some of the notable musicians they have performed with are Bay Area Jazz Ensemble, Charlie Barnet, Tony Bennett, Joe Dodge, Ella Fitzgerald, Vince Guaraldi, Earl “Fatha” Hines, Quincy Jones, Buddy Morrow, Eddie Peabody, Norbert Stachel, Ed Thigpen, Al Trobbe, and Claude Thornhill.
Formed by Dalt Williams in 2001, the group has been featured in the Burlingame Art & Jazz Festival, Benicia Art, Wine, & Jazz Festival, Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival, Vallejo Jazz Festival, Vallejo Jazz Cruises, Suisun Sunday Jazz Series, Vacaville Jazz Festival, Fairfield Candy Festival, Vallejo, Benicia, and Fairfield Library Concerts, and numerous other jazz venues in Northern California.
When you hear this group, don’t be surprised if you feel a strong urge to tap your toe’s. Guaranteed to “swing,” they are “toe tappin’, finger snappin’ good.”
We also perform under the name of “Swingology,” providing “big band and swing era” dance music of 20’s, 30’s, & 40’s.
